Apache Wash Trailhead,

Phoenix, AZ

Several times a year I hold model calls for families, maternity and couples. I do this for locations I have not captured, fun ideas I want to try or to give back to my community. Hillary answered my last minute model call. I mean hours before we had our session I asked the community for a family or maternity mama to join me at Apache Wash Trailhead. This last-minute model call was an absolute DREAM! Hillary pulled together outfits, the drive and attitude to meet me.

About the Family

Hillary was on her motherhood journey, expecting baby number two. I was stunned when she told me she was almost due - she had a beautiful baby bump and rocked her poses! I must admit her daughter stole the show! Her personality shinned! It didn't take long for her to open up and embrace the photography session! From being front and center to embracing her soon to be sibling - she was not afraid to explore Apache wash and showcase her personality. Shortly after our session this family welcomed their new addition to the family.

About the location

I have never photographed at Apache Wash Trailhead, however, it was on my bucket list of locations! This maternity session was exactly what I was looking for when asking a family to join me at this location. Apache Wash Trailhead can be found at 1600 E Sonoran Desert Dr, Phoenix, AZ 85085 (off of Dove Valley/ East Sonoran Drive). There are restrooms, plenty of parking, and a couple of covered ramadas. Gates are open 5 am – 7 pm, and trails are open until 11 pm. No fees. This 2.5 mile hike is kid friendly, maternity friendly and has the perfect desert scenery. Within a few feet of our parked cars we were able to get access to this beautiful space. This location has cactus, mountain view and gates for props.
